POLICE CLERK     

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Full-time Police Clerk. This position provides skilled secretarial work, administrative support and provides secretarial duties for the Chief of Police and other staff as directed by the Chief of Police.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculates worked hours of all police personnel and submits final results to the Payroll / Human Resources Clerk.
  • Receives and handles calls from the general public regarding police incident reports and other police matters.
  • Processes photocopy requests for police reports.
  • Input all required data entry forms into the MDS system (example: citations)
  • Maintaining police records and filing system.
  • GCIC TAC / Operator for the police department.
  • MDS
  • Maintain jail book.
  • Place all incoming subpoenas into the appropriate officer’s box.
  • Maintain all accident files for mail out to the state (of the previous month) within the first week of the current month.
  • Maintain an inventory of office supplies. Ordering office supplies as requested and approved by the Chief of Police.
  • Maintain computer backup.
  • Assisting with Municipal Court which includes: taking payments and printing receipts, making copies of all necessary documents, and answering the phone.
  • Other duties as assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred; supplemented by minimum 4 years administrative experience in office setting, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

Must be in good health with the ability to maintain an above average attendance record. Employee must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.

PART-TIME BOOKKEEPER        

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to assist with the Finance Department. This position will mostly be working out of Lost Plantation Golf Course.

Applicants must have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in Microsoft Office, three years’ experience working in AP, AR and Journal Entries. Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Balances and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Help with journal entries
  • Match purchase orders with invoices
  • Pay vendor invoices
  • Help develop weekly and monthly financial statements and reports, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management
  • Help with bank reconciliation

Preferred experience with Tyler Accounting Software system, but not required.

Preferred Associates Degree or Certificate in Accounting.

BUILDING AND ZONING INSPECTOR

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a full time Building and Zoning Inspector.  This position is supervised by the City Planner / Director of the Building and Zoning Department.

Responsibilities: The purpose of this classification is to ensure all construction, residential and business, within the city is consistent with nationally recognized standards for health, safety, welfare, energy and water conservation, adequate egress facilities, sanitary equipment, light and ventilation, fire safety facilities, structural strength, and physically handicapped and age accessibility.  Responsible for the day-to-day enforcement and monitoring of the City’s Code of Ordinances, including the building codes, zoning, subdivision, tree ordinances, and all other ordinances adopted and/or enforced by the City.

Minimum Qualifications: A Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in building trades; Supplemented by five (5) years previous experience and /or training that includes building construction and knowledge of codes. (3) years previous experience in general office operations, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job (experience in local government preferred).

Individual should be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted, be able to use a tape rule, understand blue prints, processing and typing accuracy are essential.  Applicants must pass a drug screening and background check.  Potential employees must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
