BUILDING AND ZONING PERMIT TECHNICIAN

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Building and Zoning Permit Technician.  This position is supervised by the City Planner / Director of the Building and Zoning Department.  The responsibilities of this position include processing permits, fees, and business licenses, maintaining vital city and department records, and assisting with city elections.  Must have the ability to handle several responsibilities and tasks at one time, and be able to prioritize those tasks.  Require organizational skills with attention to detail.  Applicant must be able to effectively plan and oversee events and meetings.  Position requires extremely good communication ability.  Must have good verbal and written skills and be able to work well with others while maintaining a professional attitude.

A High school diploma or equivalent is required; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience in general office operations, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job (experience in local government preferred).  Individual should be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.  Data processing and typing accuracy are essential.  Applicants must pass a drug screening and background check.  Potential employees must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Public Works Laborer.  A viable applicant will have a driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.

A viable applicant will know how to drive a flatbed dump truck and be able to operate all of the following:  weed eater; tractor; lawnmower; medium and heavy equipment; and be able to perform various types of manual labor.  A viable applicant will also be able to work in both heat and cold conditions in an outside environment on a regular basis.  A viable applicant must also be able to work in a diverse environment.  Applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and a drug screen.
