Recreation Coordinator

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a full time Recreation Coordinator. The position reports to the Recreation Director and assists in the management of all the City’s parks and recreation programs. This department also oversees programs offered by the Senior Citizen Center which has its own operating budget

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

=         Data processing and typing accuracy are essential.

=         Applicants must pass drug screening and background check.

=         Potential employees must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

=         Ability to work nights & weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

=         Assists with coordinating and supervising special projects

=         Assists with the ordering and inventorying of all sports equipment and maintenance equipment

=         Aids in scheduling of games and practices, answers phones calls, assisting customers, coaches and parents

=         This position must prepare deposits from concession stand and registration

=         Stocking the concession stand

=         Must also ensure all facilities are kept tidy, safe, and clean which may include grass cutting, weed eating or general field maintenance, building maintenance or park maintenance.

=         The job also calls for the transport and supervision of the prison work detail

=         Nightly supervision of athletic contests and the umpires/officials that call them.

=         Responsible for developing, supervising, and coordinating all new and existing programs as well as any Recreation sponsored special events.

=         Performs other related duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires frequent moderate effort associated with changing from a stationary position to moving around the office as well as ascending and descending to store and file documents.

Constant positioning to operate Computer.

Occasional moving of objects weighting up to 50 lbs.

Finance Director

City of Rincon Finance Department

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Finance Director. This position reports to the City Manager. The Finance Director is responsible for directing the financial operations for the City of Rincon to include payroll processing, accounts payable, banking relationships, monthly financial reports, annual audit report, and the ability to create spreadsheets. Knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental accounting preferred or ability to obtain the Local Finance Officer Certification for levels one and two.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, including major course work in accounting with the minimum of three to five years of municipal finance preferred, but not required. Prefer individual with knowledge of municipal auditing principals, knowledge of City budgetary policies, knowledge of relevant local, state and federal regulations and skilled in developing long and short-range plans. Ability to be bonded.

Supervises and directs work assignments, conducts annual performance appraisals and trains staff. Must be knowledgeable in financial computer software. Possess ability to resolve problems and make independent decisions. Experienced in gathering and analyzing complex data, and operating standard office equipment.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Position: Finance Director

LINE/PREP COOK

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a part-time Prep/Line Cook for the Fairway Bistro at the Lost Plantation Golf Course.

This position requires that the applicant have great customer service skills and be able to pass a drug screen as well as a background check.

Essential Functions: Helping with ordering and rotating supplies, set up and take down kitchen, stocking supplies, 
Prepping food, Cooking, Cleaning work area, performs other related duties as required.

Position Qualification: SERV Safe Certified, Ability to use knives and slicer properly, Ability to handle work in a fast-paced environment, Ability to weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes, Ability to manage time appropriately, Stand for a long period of time, Ability to use time wisely.

Physical Demands: This position requires continuously standing associated with occasionally changing from a stationary position, Frequent moving of objects weighting up to 25 lbs.

Culinary degree/certification and/or 2 years equivalent experience with a High school diploma or equivalent.

Part Time Concession Stand

The City of Rincon is looking for part-time help with the Recreation Department.

Duties include:

  • Manages refreshment stands and other food concessions at public gathering and sporting events.
  • Manages cash register during events
  • Supplying excellent customer service
  • Receives orders and complete tasks both quickly and efficiently
  • Communications well with customers and fellow employees
  • Other recreation duties may apply
  • Physical Demand will include typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of materials of moderate weight (25 to 50 pounds) and standing for a long period of time.

Full Time Public Works Laborer

The City of Rincon is currently seeking two Full-Time Public Works Laborer. A viable applicant will have a driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.

A viable applicant will know how to drive a flatbed dump truck and be able to operate all of the following: street sweeper, weed eater; tractor; lawnmower; medium and heavy equipment; and be able to perform various types of manual labor.

City Engineer

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Part or Full time City Engineer. A viable applicant will have a valid GA. driver’s license

Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering degree. Must also have a P.E.

Applicant must have two (2) years of experience in this field and/or training as a civil engineer or related engineering field.

Previous experience with CAD preferred.

Applicants must have the ability to:

  • Perform technical tasks to support department function; reviews and approves hydrology studies for proposed development; conducts site reviews to ensure compliance with design plans; performs State water determinations.
  • Provides professional recommendations and assistance to city staff; provides input regarding rezoning applications, subdivision plat application, stream buffer exception requests, and other requests as applicable
  • Administer the flood plain, storm buffer, soil erosion control and storm water ordinances of the city, including monthly and semi-annual reports for the Georgia EIPD and District SWCC
  • Receive a variety of plans, designs, applications, subdivision plats, permits, maps, drainage calculations, survey data, change orders, billing invoices, purchase requisitions, and related submittals; reviews, processes, utilizes, recommends, approves, and/or forwards as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as requires.
