Property Evidence Custodian

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Property Evidence Custodian. A viable applicant will have a valid Georgia driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED with experience of knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Property room management experience is desired.

Some essential functions are, but are not limited to:

  • Daily intake of evidence and package physical evidence as prescribed.
  • Maintains and documents the chain of custody of physical evidence.
  • Prepares evidence for court presentation; assists in prosecution.
  • Submits evidence reports; creates case log to enchase case management.
  • Updates supervisors of significant events affecting evidence status.
  • Testifies before the Grand Jury and other court proceedings.
  • Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence or other documents.
  • Occasionally hold in-house training for proper change of custody.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have the ability to operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data and be able to utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, or other software programs.

Applicant will be required to submit to and pass a drug screen and background check. Applicant must have the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and will be required to work in an outside environment at times.

Part Time Concession Stand

The City of Rincon is looking for part-time help with the Recreation Department.

Duties include:

  • Manages refreshment stands and other food concessions at public gathering and sporting events.
  • Manages cash register during events
  • Supplying excellent customer service
  • Receives orders and complete tasks both quickly and efficiently
  • Communications well with customers and fellow employees
  • Other recreation duties may apply
  • Physical Demand will include typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of materials of moderate weight (25 to 50 pounds) and standing for a long period of time.

Minimum Age is 16 years old.

Police Officer

The starting salary is considered based on certifications and experience.

Potential candidates must be at least 21 years of age, be a State of Georgia P.O.S.T. certified police officer in good standing, and have a minimum of a high school Diploma. As a condition of employment, all new police officers must sign an agreement that they will not use tobacco products while on-duty.

Firefighter

 The City of Rincon is currently seeking a firefighter with good communication skills in dealing with the public.

Position Summary

This position performs and continues to train in firefighting activities, including combating and extinguishing fires, rescuing persons and salvaging property in emergency situations, training with and maintaining equipment, assisting in fire prevention activities, and controlling and containing hazardous substances.

Position Requirements

  • Successful completion of entry level firefighting training program is a perquisite for this position within 12 months of hire date.
  • Must possess a Georgia valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain Class E or F Driver’s license within three months of hire.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to read and write the English language.
  • Must be able to pass physical and meet or exceed minimum requirements on NFPA 1500 physical.
  • Must be of good moral character.
  • Must be able to work various shifts.
  • Applicants must pass a background check and follicle test drug screen.
  • High School Diploma or GED; firefighting experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Essential Functions

  • Operates assigned equipment; drives fire vehicles or apparatus to respond to calls in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspects and checks conditions of fire hydrants, standpipes, and water supply sources.
  • Must attend 50% of the drills that are scheduled on days when not on shift
  • Responds to fire alarms; lays out and connects hoses; raises and climbs ladders; directs the suppressants to extinguish fires; carries out firefighting activities using tools and methods in prescribed manner; performs emergency lifesaving activities; salvages and preserves property to minimize fire loss; and performs clean-up activities after fire suppression.
  • Trains and studies with fire tools and equipment to develop and maintain competency and proficiency in fire suppression and prevention procedures and techniques, lifesaving techniques, and to become familiar with developments in incombustible and fire hazards; conducts studies to learn locations of city streets and addresses, hydrants, standpipes, and physical features of property within a district.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pro-Shop Attendant

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a part time Golf Shop Clerk. This position requires that the applicant have good customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Able to operate a register and credit card equipment
  • Ensure players sign-in and keep track of golf play on course
  • Assist customers with inventory as needed
  • Ensure daily responsibilities checklist is completed each shift
  • Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor

  • Ability to manage time wisely

Golf Course Mechanic

The City of Rincon is currently seeking a Golf Course Mechanic. A viable applicant will have a valid GA. driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED, with at least two years of experience.

Previous experience with golf course equipment required. Repair with special emphasis on reel mower setup and grinding also required.  Experience required with electrical, small engine and diesel engines.  Applicants must have the ability to maintain a preventive maintenance program on all club-owned equipment.  Good record keeping and organizational skills required. Applicant must keep a clean work area and be willing to do any task that the golf club and /or city needs at any time.  Applicants must have experience with Microsoft Excel and computers. Applicant will be required to submit to and pass a drug screen.

Applicant must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and will be working in an outside environment.
