Non-Certified Applicants (Police Recruit)
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Complete a City of Rincon Police Department Application
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid GA Driver’s License
- Background Check
- Interview
- Drug Screen
- Psychological Evaluation
- Voice Stress Analysis
- Physical Agility Test* - required to be accepted into the police academy
Once hired you will begin preparing to attend the next session of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification Academy. This will be an 11-week program, conducted at a regional academy, which upon completion will result in the recruit becoming a State of Georgia Certified Peace Officer.
*Candidates who served in the U.S. Military as Military Police or Criminal Investigator (or branch of service equivalent) or Out of State Certified Police Officers may be eligible for an Equivalency of Training (EOT) which reduces basic law enforcement academy requirements and allows for issuance of GA POST certification upon meeting the EOT requirements.*
Salary and Benefits
- Pay for Police Recruit is $19.00 an hour – 40 Hour work schedule
- Paid bi-weekly for a total of 80 Hours

GA POST Certified Applicants (Police Officer)
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Complete a City of Rincon Police Department Application
- Must have a current POST record in Good Standing
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid GA Driver’s License
- Background Check
- Interview
- Drug Screen
- Psychological Evaluation
- Voice Stress Analysis
Once hired you will be assigned to the Field Training Program and begin working with a Field Training Officer. You will work a 12-hour rotating patrol schedule.
